Santa

Santa Claus (strangely similar to FCE teacher Rob Jenkins) did not forget WE Director Tim Bowyer this Christmas!

Different Is Beautiful Well, let's face it, our Cambridge course has come to an end. It seems that it all started a few days ago, and yet here we are, waiting for the uncertain results of our exams. But what if? What if I've failed? What if I've attended this whole course for nothing? What if I've missed my chance? The only thing I'm sure of is that we all benefited from this course in our different and personal ways and this makes it all worthwhile.
As for myself, I overcame many of my prejudices during these 12 weeks of mixing with diverse people. I did so to such an extent that I even became great friends with people that I had always thought of as coming from another dimension, the German part of my little country. I have learnt that we all have different ways to relate to the school and to our peers, and none is better than the other. What makes us rich and interesting is our individuality, and I want to thank World English for providing such a great soil to the seed of my indivuality.
One last word about the two next pages. They contain the the mail and electronic addresses of all the people that have taken part in the Cambridge (CPE) course this time. Feel free to perpetuate the family tradition that characterizes World English by writing to all of us!

I wish to all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (Cyril Reato, Swiss CPE student)

Ballroom dancing is now an after-school option, every Tuesday at 3.300 in the recreation room! The tango, waltz, cha-cha...

The snakeman is coming again: the snakeman will be visiting us again with his collection of snakes, lizards, and other slimy, creepy things with big, strange eyes. So if you like having a 15-kilo python and his sister slither round your neck, rush to the recreation room at 11 this Friday!

Gym

"On October 6th lots of students took part in 'Jungle Gym'...running, jumping, screaming and laughing really exhausted everyone..." Guillaume

I've been at World English for 5 weeks now. I've been able to not only improve my English but also to learn about the way of life - this has given me the confidence to live comfortably in Australia. The lessons are given in a relaxed way that makes it easy to ask questions. Maybe it's because of the small classes, or maybe because the teachers are so approachable. Whatever questions I have, I always get an answer. (Yoko Tamakoshi, Japanese)
I've never been in such a welcoming school. Of course we study English grammar and the basics, but we also spend a lot of time practising conversations in real-life situations. This helps us to actually communicate with Australian people outside the school. On top of that I've also met lots of different people and I've been very happy. If I ever had any problems there was always somebody to advise me and to help me. I can recommend this school. (Atsuko Sakamoto, Japanese)
Unfortunately I only had two weeks for my course, but this short time really gave me a lot. Just the friendly, family atmosphere at World English made me feel really good. What was best was the way the school responded to our learning needs. The physical layout of the school, and the things you can do in the Student Resource Centre, are also very good. I recommend World English every time! (Anke Reykowski, German)
